Five Darfuri students were injured in an attack on Wednesday, by members of the National Congress Party (NCP) and security agents, at El Zaeem El Azhari University in Khartoum.

“Militant NCP students, backed by security agents, stormed the campus during the second day of the exams,” a leading member of the Darfur Students Association told Radio Dabanga.

He reported that they attacked the Darfuris with metal bars and machetes.

“They continued chasing them, even in the streets of the neighbourhood they fled to. Five students sustained injuries.

“Darfuri students Adam Ishag Ahmed and Mutawakil El Nur were detained by security agents stationed in front of the university,” he added.
