Three lorries hijacked in Central Darfur

Gunmen ambushed three lorries in two separate incidents in Central Darfur on Sunday.
One of the victims reported to Radio Dabanga that a group of militiamen ambushed two passenger lorries at the Nyala-El Geneina road.
“We were intercepted in the area of Kourdel, near Bindisi,” one of the passengers told Radio Dabanga.
“They ordered us to disembark at gunpoint, robbed us of our money and mobile telephones, and took the vehicles with them to an unknown destination.”
In another incident, a commercial lorry en route from Nyala, capital of South Darfur, to Mukjar, was hijacked in the area of Saraf Majoun.
“They stopped the driver by force, and then stole the lorry,” an eyewitness reported to Radio Dabanga from Saraf Mamoun on Monday.
