Three killed in Misseriya and Rizeigat clashes

On Monday new fighting erupted between the Misseriya and Rizeigat Al Abbala tribes in Kass locality, South Darfur killing three people and wounding five others. A witness told Radio Dabanga the clashes took place in an area west of Kass leading to the deaths of two people belonging to the Rizeigat and one to the Misseriya. A Misseriya fighter was kidnapped and three were injured, they were taken to hospital in Kass for treatment. The witness added that local people told security authorities in Kass that the situation could erupt at any time as there is a large gathering of both armed parties in the area. However, authorities have not responded as they said the Commissioner for Kass, who is the head of security is yet to be appointed.
