“A large group of militiamen on camels and horses attacked Ronga Ronga and Beilei villages near Sortony, where there is a Unamid base” the coordinator of the Kabkabiya camps for the displaced informed Radio Dabanga.

“Three children were killed,” he said. “Five houses burned to the ground. The attackers then left, taking all the villagers’ sheep with them.”

The coordinator said that the people could not do anything, “Rokoro and Guldo cannot be reached because of the proliferation of militiamen. The nearest town with a police post is Kabkabiya, at a distance of about 58 kilometres”.

Kutrum

At least seven barrel bombs were dropped on the area east of Nierteti in South Darfur on Tuesday morning.

“In particular the villages near Kutrum seemed to be targeted,” a resident of Nierteti told Radio Dabanga. He said that most of the villagers already fled higher into the mountain.
