Thousands attend funeral of people killed at wedding in Zamzam camp

Over 3,000 people in Zamzam camp attended Friday the funeral of the three people being killed last Tuesday evening during a wedding ceremony. The people have accused the Central Defence Forces (Abu Tira) for the massacre. At the memorial ceremony several speakers demanded the utmost punishment for the perpetrators and for all of those involved in the attack. They warned the authorities of complicity with the perpetrators in stead of bringing them to justice as soon as possible. The sources speaking to Radio Dabanga described that Abu Tira troops since they were posted at the camp, since 2011, have killed more than 20 camp residents, based on ethnicity. They were involved in rape, robberies and looting. According to the residents, the authorities have not responded to any of the cruelties, let alone bringing them to trial A committee of families of the dead, together with some managers of the Zamzam camp captured three of the culprits and handed them to the police. A number of witnesses testified in front of the prosecutor that they killed the three camp residents, two of them were paramedics, working for the Child Protection Network of Zamzam camp. Fourteen others were wounded, including children and a medical doctor. The Abu Tira troops opened fire on them and on the ambulance inside the Zamzam camp on Tuesday evening without any reason.  The names of the killed people are Abdelaziz Abdallah, Ahmed Ismail Haroun and Abdallah Bakhtelbanat.
