Sudanese students want arms removed from university

The Students Union of the University of Khartoum on Sunday demanded the resumption of the suspended studies, and the removal of weapons stored inside the campus. Awad Mohamed Adam, member of the Students Union, told Radio Dabanga that they organised a sit-in on Sunday, in front of the university gate. “We demanded the immediate resumption of the suspended studies. In addition, we insist on the removal of all the jihadist and militant student units from the campus, as well as the Molotov cocktails and weapons they have stored at the university premises.” “We also protested against the delayed investigations into the killing of Darfuri student Ali Abakar Musa Idris in March, and the prolonged detention of student activists, and political party members.
