Sudanese rebels capture military camp in South Kordofan: spokesman

Forces of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) claim to have destroyed a Sudanese army camp in Fayu, west of Dalami in the Nuba Mountains, South Kordofan state on Monday.

According to the official spokesman for the SPLM-N, Arnu Ngutulu Lodi, SPLM-N forces, under the umbrella of the Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF, an alliance of armed rebel movements and opposition parties), inflicted heavy losses to “the enemy”.

“The SPLM-N captured military equipment in good condition: one Korean jeep (Akama), two 12.7mm machine guns, two PKM machine guns, two 60mm mortars, two RPG-7s, two tractors, and a large quantity of shells and ammunition.”

Lodi added to Radio Dabanga that fighting “with the remaining army forces” is continuing in the area of Wali Abu Sida in Delling County. “Our SRF forces are in control of the situation.”
