Sudanese Ministers welcome JEM-Bashar delegation to Khartoum

The chairman of the Bashar faction of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM-Bashar), Bakhit Abdallah Abdel Karim (also known as Dabjo), arrived in Khartoum on the evening of 13 November, accompanied by a delegation, reports the Sudan News Agency (SUNA). Dabjo and his delegation were met at Khartoum Airport by the Minister of Investment, Dr Mustafa Osman Ismail, the Minister of Health, Bahar Idris Abu Garda, the State Minister at the Presidency of the Republic and Chairman of the Office for Follow up of Peace in Darfur, Dr Amin Hassan Omar, the envoy of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Khalifa bin Abdallah El Thani, along with a number of officials and leaders of the native administration in Darfur. Following their arrival, Dabjo and the accompanying delegation left for El Muhandisin district in Omdurman City to address a mass rally, the SUNA report concluded. The JEM-Bashar faction broke away from the mainstream JEM in 2012 under the leadership of Mohamed Bashar. They signed the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) with the Sudanese government earlier this year.Dabjo became chairman of JEM-Bashar after the death of Mohamed Bashar in a violent clash with mainstream JEM forces in North Darfur, near the Sudan-Chad border, in May 2013.
