Sudanese-Chadian joint force arrests three men

The Sudanese-Chadian joint border control force arrested three men from Seleia locality in Western Darfur last week, a source told Radio Dabanga. The three men, Al Sadiq, Tor and Babiker were shopping in Biruk market on the border of Sudan and Chad when they were detained. A family member of one of the detainees said the men were all farmers and married with families from Gerena village. She said that the joint forces accused the men of belonging to rebel movements and transferred them to El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur. The witness also expressed fear that the detainees may be tortured in prison, and appealed for the men to be released immediately or taken to court.
