Sudan, US review humanitarian situation in Darfur

Sudan’s Minister at the Presidency and the U.S. Special Envoy to Sudan have jointly reviewed the humanitarian situation in Darfur, Radio Dabanga learned on Tuesday, 27 November. Dr. Amin Hassan Omer, who is also the Chairman of the Darfur Peace Office, and Princeton Lyman, also reportedly reviewed how to facilitate the movement of aid workers to improve the humanitarian situation in the region. Omer told SUNA that both parties looked into the recent security problems in North Darfur and discussed about arrangements to enable displaced persons to take part in the upcoming Donors Conference in Doha in December.The position of the US concerning the implementation of the Doha document was described as ‘positive’ by the minister, while expressing his wish that the US would put more effort into it, according to reports.
