Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that elements of security and intelligence apparatus stopped a number of journalists during their coverage of the events that took place yesterday and took them to an unknown destination.Those who were arrested are: Hamza Balul of Al Hadath newspaper, Sara Taj Al Sir of Al Sahafa newspaper, Anis Abdelrahman of Al Hadath newspaper, and Mohamed Marzuq, a photographer for Al Akhbar newspaper. They were released last night. Radio Dabanga learnt from informed sources that the security also went to the headquarters of Akhbar Al Yowm newspaper and arrested the journalist Ahmed Sir.

Early this morning, security men went to the printing press of two newspapers and confiscated the entire print run. Ajras Al Hurriya and Al Sahafa newspapers were targeted after they had finished printing the papers and prepared them for distribution. These two newspapers had full coverage of the student demonstrations in Khartoum.
