The Ambassador of Sudan to Libya, Osman Mohamed El Faki, has been slightly injured during an armed robbery in the country’s capital of Tripoli this week.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, El Ghani El Naim, reports that the attack resulted in injuries to ambassador El Faki’s face, mouth, and teeth, but that “the ambassador is fine”.

Undersecretary El Naim added that the ambassador’s mobile phone was stolen during the robbery, which initially seems to have been a non-political mugging and that “the incident was not intended”.
