State of Emergency in East Darfur: arrests, confiscations

During the first week after the State of Emergency was imposed in East Darfur state, eight people were arrested, and a number of vehicles and motorcycles were confiscated. The commissioner of Ed Daein locality, El Taher Sharef, announced on Wednesday that eight civilians were charged with carrying light weapons. 62 cars and 126 motorcycles without number plates were confiscated.   Sharef said that the majority of the vehicles and motorcycles belonged to state officials.
