SPLM-N: ‘24 bombs dropped’ over the weekend

The Sudan People Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) claims that the Sudanese air force dropped 24 bombs in several villages in the Umm Doreen and Boram localities, South Kordofan, according to a press statement released over the weekend. Arnu Ngutulu Lodi, the movement’s spokesman, affirmed the shelling took place on Saturday and Sunday, 1 and 2 December. He said houses and many farms were burned and the fire spread widely. No human casualties were reported. Lodi announced that the Sudanese air force bombed the following villages: Alabu-maruda, Alnugra, Tablo and Dabkar in Umm Doreen locality; and Shatt Safaya, Jebel Kua and Fama villages in Boram locality. Saturday At 5:30pm on Saturday, the statement read, an Antonov airplane dropped two bombs on the Shatt Safaya village, destroying the house of Mrs.Tolba Tia Kafi. In addition, the air force dropped four bombs on Jebel Kua village, which destroyed farmlands, and three others on the Fama village, Lodi asserted.  On the same day, at 7pm, the airplane dropped eight bombs on the Alabu-maruda, Alnugra and Tablo villages. All of them landed on farms, the spokesman added. Sunday On Sunday, an Antonov bombed again the village of Fama, Lodi pointed out, explaining that the six bombs destroyed and burned five houses. The houses belonged to Mrs. Khadija Kuku Hakim, Eshak Kuku Abdalla, Jibril Kuku Sarokh, Mrs. Fatima Kafi Tabeldia and Kua Kafi Tutu, Lodi reported. In addition, one cow was killed and the fire spread out to nearby farms and bush, eventually extending to further away areas.
