Government forces attempting to occupy an area west of Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan, came under attack from the rebel Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North on Sunday morning.

The rebels’ west Kadugli sector repulsed a convoy of the Sudanese army on its way to Lima, the SPLM-N said in a press statement.
