South Darfur imposes price limit on fuel

The security committee of South Darfur issued a decision requiring merchants to adhere to certain prices per gallon of petrol and diesel. It also announced that their licenses once expired, will not be renewed.A gallon of petrol, according to the committee, should be sold for SDG26 ($5.9) and of diesel for SDG21 ($4.7).”Any trader who sells fuel for higher prices will have their goods confiscated,” it was announced. The price of a gallon at the black market may reach up to SDG70 ($15.9).The commissioner of Nyala North locality, Al Hadi Issa, noted the decision was jointly issued by the locality and municipality of Nyala.
