South Darfur governor vows punishment of kidnappers

Abdelhamid Musa Kasha, governor of south of Darfur, said that he would not forgive or hesitate in prosecuting any group or race or tribe if they commit a crime. Kasha condemned the spree of kidnappings in the state and called for release of the abductees.

Abdelhamid Musa Kasha, governor of south of Darfur, said that he would not forgive or hesitate in prosecuting any group or race or tribe if they commit a crime. Kasha condemned the spree of kidnappings in the state and called for release of the abductees.He acknowledged, however, in an interview with Radio Dabanga, that negotiations and payments have been made recently to kidnappers. He said that the the aim of the kidnappings is to extort money, and not for any political purpose or clan purpose. Kasha blamed “outlaws” for the abductions and looting.
