South Darfur governor offers amnesty to mountain guerillas

The Governor of South Darfur, Hamid Musa Kasha, offered an unconditional general amnesty to the sons of the region of East Jebel Marra who have taken up weapons as part of the insurgency.

The Governor of South Darfur, Hamid Musa Kasha, offered an unconditional general amnesty to the sons of the region of East Jebel Marra who have taken up weapons as part of the insurgency. The governor urged them to embrace peace, come down from the mountain and return to the area Kadingeer. During his recent visit to East Jebel Marra, he appealed to two Fur tribal leaders in particular. He called on the Shartai Ibrahim Hassaballa, the shartai of Dar Umo and the Shartai Adam Suliman Ibrahim in the area of Kadingeer, to return to the area and leave behind the language of arms.
