SLM-MM deny killing 8 civilians in North Darfur

At least eight men were shot dead, 17 injured and 25 others arrested at Abu Gamra in North Darfur. The men’s relatives said the assault was led by a pro Sudan Liberation Movement led by Minni Minawi group, headed by Muhammadain Arkujuru after the men refused to pay money to support the SLM-MM. One of the men killed was Nocki Haggar Nada, his brother told Radio Dabanga that the family demands an investigation into the incident and for the perpetrators to be tried by the International Criminal Court. The SLM-MM  denied any targeting the men and said the charges were false and baseless. Abdullah Mursal SLM-MM spokesman told Radio Dabanga that the incident was a dispute between citizens over a water source in the area, adding that the SLM-MM intervened to resolve the dispute. He stressed that the movement had arrested the attackers.
