SLM-AW attack military base in Darfur’s Jebel Marra

The Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahid El Nur (SLM-AW) has announced that it destroyed the military base of Turo, near Golo, west of Jebel Marra on Wednesday. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, Mustafa Tambur, the military spokesman for the SLM-AW, reported that their fighters, under the banner of the Sudan Revolutionary Front, attacked the military base of Turo in the north of Central Darfur. “15 army and militia troops were killed, and others injured. The entire base was destroyed. We seized three Land Cruisers mounted with machineguns, military equipment, and a large quantity of weapons and ammunition.”   “The army and militia troops fled from the base, and on their flight attacked villages at the area of Golo. The villages of Noni, Ahya Elsawra, and El Sadaga were set on fire. The Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahid El Nur (SLM-AW) has announced that it destroyed the military base of Turo, near Golo, west of Jebel Marra on Wednesday.

Speaking to Radio Dabanga, Mustafa Tambur, the military spokesman for the SLM-AW, reported that their fighters, under the banner of the Sudan Revolutionary Front, attacked the military base of Turo in the north of Central Darfur.

“15 army and militia troops were killed, and others injured. The entire base was destroyed. We seized three Land Cruisers mounted with machineguns, military equipment, and a large quantity of weapons and ammunition.”  

“The army and militia troops fled from the base, and on their flight attacked villages at the area of Golo. The villages of Noni, Ahya Elsawra, and El Sadaga were set on fire. The troops raped eight young women; six of them are students of the Golo secondary school.”
