Six villages pillaged in Kolbus locality, West Darfur

In Kolbus locality, West Darfur, militia troops pillaged six villages on Sunday and Monday. One of the victims told Radio Dabanga that elements of a militia who had gathered near Abu Rumayl village and kidnapped five of its residents on Sunday, attacked “at least six villages in the area”. “Abakar Ishag of Nokoumonj villages sustained serious injuries. The militiamen seized 80 cows from Um Rish village, from Bouri 180 sheep, from Hirazat Teiman 360 goats. At Deiba village, more than 300 heads of livestock cows were stolen, at Nokoumonj 60 goats, and from Abu Rumayl four cows.” The source described the situation as “very tense”. “The militia is besieging the villages, and in control of the roads. They rob each and everyone in the area.” He called upon the authorities to “intervene, protect the citizens by deterring the militiamen and bring those involved to justice”. Radio Dabanga reported on Tuesday that militiamen abducted five citizens from Abu Rumayl village in Kolbus locality on Sunday. Three were released later. A ransom of SDG350,000 ($61,100) has been demanded for the other two.
