Six of ex-rebel Darfur faction sentenced in Khartoum murder case

A criminal court in Omdurman yesterday sentenced six staff members of the Sudan Liberation Army faction of Minni Arko Minawi to three years in prison. The court found them guilty of killing another official belonging to the ex-rebel movement, Mahdi Abdullah Issa, on the 26th of last January in the countryside south of the city of Omdurman.

A criminal court in Omdurman yesterday sentenced six staff members of the Sudan Liberation Army faction of Minni Arko Minawi to three years in prison. The court found them guilty of killing another official belonging to the ex-rebel movement, Mahdi Abdullah Issa, on the 26th of last January in the countryside south of the city of Omdurman. The murder was committed inside the house of Abu Saad, affiliated with the movement. The court ordered the defendants to pay full blood money, 40 thousand pounds, to the family of Mahdi.
