Six men charged with murder, abduction in Nyala court, South Darfur

Six defendants suspected of abducting a young man and girl, among other crimes, appeared before the judge on Tuesday at the Nyala court in South Darfur. The defendants are being tried for murder, criminal involvement, kidnapping, and physical harm that fall under articles V and VI of the Anti-Terrorism Law and article 26 of the Law on Weapons, Ammunitions, Explosives and Hazardous Material in line with the Sudanese Criminal Code.  The Assistant Attorney General for Crimes in Darfur, Makram Rizkallah Khalil, reported to Radio Dabanga that that the six defendants are also suspected of having clashed with the police in the area of Nyala.The court is scheduled to the defence counsel on 4 and 5 November, Khalil said, adding that one of the defendants faces charges such as murder and rape.
