Shoppers beaten in South Darfur armed robbery

A number of people were injured in an armed robbery in Mershing in South Darfur on Sunday.
One of the victims reported to Radio Dabanga that janjaweed riding on camels attacked people returning from the Kadneir Market to their villages.
“They beat our group with their rifle butts and whips, and stripped us of our money, mobile phones, and purchases.”
He could not say how many people were injured. “Some people sustained serious injuries. I myself saw one woman who was severely hit. She had to be taken to the hospital of Mershing.”
