Agents of military intelligence beat and detained two shoppers at Deribat market in Darfur’s East Jebel Marra this afternoon.

Abakr Issa Ayoub (32) and Adam Issa Hamdan (45) from the village of Sony, 15 kilometres west of Deribat, travelled to the town to shop at the market. While they were there, the agents seized and beat them, before detaining them.

The motives for the arrest are as yet unknown.
