Shooting and looting in Kabkabiya

On Saturday a trader was shot dead in the city of Kabkabiya, North Darfur by a group of armed men.A relative of the deceased told Radio Dabanga that three gunmen attacked the man at 11pm at his home, firing two shots, one in his head and the other at his chest. The gunmen also stole money and other possessions from the trader’s home. The incident was reported to local police and the hybrid UN/AU Mission in Darfur forces. In another incident student Hassan Mohammad Yacob was seriously injured in a shooting in the village of Gergo, in west Kabkabiya. A witness said to Radio Dabanga that three gunmen threatened the eight grade high school student, and demanded he hand over money and his possessions. When Hassan refused he was shot in the shoulder and thigh.He was taken to hospital in Kabkabiya for treatment.
