Seven dead, three injured in Darfur armed robberies

In Saraf Omra, North Darfur, a man was reportedly killed and another injured in an attack by unknown gunman on Tuesday night. A relative of the victim told Radio Dabanga that unknown gunmen attacked el Misseri Ibrahim Salim at about 11pm. Salim was in his workshop at the market with another man when militants opened fire on them. Salim was killed outright, while the other man was injured but managed to flee.  In South Darfur, a man named as Abdelmunim was reportedly killed on Wednesday during an armed attack on a commercial vehicle in the area of Aradeiba, northeast of Buram. Speaking to Radio Dabanga Hamid Ali Jubeir Abu Ghara reported that two gunmen, one on a camel and the other on a horse, stopped a commercial vehicle in the area of Aradeiba.They robbed the passengers of all their possessions at gunpoint and fired at Abdelmunim when he refused to hand over his money. He died on the spot.In the neighbourhood of Riyadh, in the eastern part of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, five people were reportedly shot, two others wounded and an amount of SDG20,000 ($3,360) and two motorcycles stolen by militiamen. One of the survivors of the attack told Radio Dabanga that militiamen opened fire on them on Wednesday evening when they were on their way to their homes after participating in a social event. He said the attack left five dead. Two were seriously injured and were transferred to Nyala hospital for treatment. The witness said that a complaint has been lodged with the police.
