Security arrests journalist Faisal Muhammed Salih

The National Intelligence and Security Service arrested leading Sudanese journalist Faisal Muhammed Salih on Tuesday afternoon.
Security authorities have taken control of many local newspapers and been harassing journalists since April 25.
Journalists told Radio Dabanga that they believe Faisal was arrested following an interview he gave to Al Jazeera TV on April 19 where he talked about president Bashir and the fact that journalists are also being targeted by security to quash freedom of expression and opinion.
He also said that journalists were being intimidated by phone calls and other tactics designed to prevent them from publishing material the government has banned.
The Sudanese Journalists Network and the Network of Journalists for Human Rights condemn the arrest of Faisal Muhammed Salih and said they are also worried about his physical and psychological condition.
