S. Darfur minister blames electric situation on fuel convoys, debts

Ibrahim Hassan, the Minister of Physical Infrastructure in the state of South Darfur, admitted that there were problems in providing electricity to the city of Nyala due to the fuel shortage.

Ibrahim Hassan, the Minister of Physical Infrastructure in the state of South Darfur, admitted that there were problems in providing electricity to the city of Nyala due to the fuel shortage. He stated that the problem lies in transporting the fuel from El Obeid to Nyala. Additionally, he disclosed that the Ministry of Finance owes debts to the companies transporting the fuel. The minister also revealed that the state needs twelve hundred tons of fuel monthly to run the electricity stations.
