Robbery claims two lives in Nyala, South Darfur

Two people were killed and two others were injured in an armed robbery at a house in Nyala city, South Darfur, on Sunday. Witnesses in the South Darfur capital recounted that unidentified gunmen robbed a house in Korea district. They shot the owner and his two sons, killing the father, and injuring the eldest son. A police patrol hunted down the culprits and exchanged fire with them, killing one of the gunmen on the spot and wounding another inside Nyala. Nyala police have received dozens of complaints of militiamen stealing vehicles and goods on the Nyala airport road and the road to El Fasher, blocked by elements of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces in the last week of May. Five vehicles, eight rickshaws, and more than 500 mobile phones had been looted by then, in addition to cash and other valuables.
