Rizeigat leader calls for peace with rival tribe after raid in S. Darfur

The incident has sparked fears of renewed clashes between two tribes. A number of leaders of the civil administration in Nyala visited the scene to calm tempers and heal the rift. Mohamad Hussein Daw Al Nur, chairman of the shura council of the Rizeigat tribe in Nyala, appealed for peace and coexistence with the Sa’ada tribe. Radio Dabanga was unable to contact anybody on the Sa’ada side for comment. Mohamed Hussein’s remarks were broadcast this morning on Radio Dabanga.
