Hundreds of displaced people fleeing from the war in the state of South Kordofan poured into the city of El Obeid in North Kordofan. Eyewitnesses from El Obeid told Radio Dabanga’s ‘Tamazuj’ program that hundreds of families fleeing from the war have arrived at the southern entrance of the city and that a large number of them have settled near El Obeid College of Technology. The witnesses added that those who fled are living in the open under the shade of trees in difficult humanitarian conditions, especially given the ongoing rains. They stated that most of the displaced people are women and children and that no humanitarian aid or services have been provided to them. The authorities of El Obeid refused to set up tents to shelter the displaced people, who are estimated to be pouring into the city at a rate of 50 families per day.
