Rebels ‘rout Rokoro garrison’ in Central Darfur

The Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahid El Nur (SLM-AW) claims to have killed 58 government troops and militiamen from the Rokoro garrison in Central Darfur.
During an attack by the rebels on the garrison on Friday morning, the Captain in command of the garrison was among the dead. Many more were injured and four vehicles were destroyed.
Mustafa Tambour, military spokesman for the SLM-AW, told Radio Dabanga that the rebels have taken control of the garrison, as well as three Land Cruisers mounted with Duschka .50-calibre machineguns, large quantities of arms and ammunition, food supplies, and medical equipment.
Tambour said that the surviving members of the garrison took flight, leaving the dead and wounded behind.
