Rebels of the Sudan People's Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N) claim to have repulsed an attack by government forces and militias on Kanga village west of Kadugli in South Kordofan/Nuba mountains on Saturday.

Spokesman Arnu Ngutulu Lodi told Radio Dabanga that the attack was launched at 5 pm. “The enemy set fire to a number of houses before we forced them out of the village and pursued them until the outskirts of Kelak town”.

On the same day SPLA/N forces ambushed and captured a vehicle loaded with ballot boxes on the Kadugli-Delling road. “The SPLA/N forces will continue with their military campaign plan to support the Leave! Campaign, and to stop the election,” Lodi said. “We call upon all people to distance themselves from military locations and sites as these are legitimate targets to attack,” he concluded.
