Rebels ‘kill seven Sudanese government troops, capture officers’ in South Kordofan

The Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF) claims to have killed seven government troops and captured two officers in a clash in Rashad locality in South Kordofan on Monday. SRF spokesman Colonel Al Gadi Rumboy spoke to Radio Dabanga from the field on Tuesday, claiming that a combined force comprising elements of SLA Abdel Wahid (SLA-AW) and SPLA-N clashed with a contingent of the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) near Al Maghrib. “The SRF killed seven government troops, while two officers were captured, and a Land Cruiser seized,” Col Rumboy said. He disclosed that the captured officers, both First Lieutenants, are Ibrahim Mohamed Hamad of the Military Intelligence unit, who lives in Kassala, and Muntasir Faisal Ahmed Abdel Samad from Omdurman.
