The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) claims that its rebel forces seized the area of the Kululu Hills in South Kordofan on Saturday.

In a press statement on Sunday, Arnu Ngutulu Lodi, military spokesman for the SPLM-N, announced the recapture of the Kululu Hills, south of Kadugli, capital of South Kordofan.

According to the statement, the Sudanese army suffered heavy losses. 15 army soldiers were reportedly killed. The rebels seized “two Dushka machineguns, nine PKM MG, seven RPG-7, and one 60 mm mortar”.

Two SPLM-N combatants sustained injuries. Lodi added that the rebels will continue their battle to “bring down the regular forces defending the ethnic cleansing and genocidal regime”.
