Rebels claim ‘10 government dead, 30 wounded’ in Sudan’s Blue Nile state

Sudanese rebel forces claim to have killed 10 and injured more than 30 troops of the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and pro-government militias in action on Saturday in Bau locality, Blue Nile state. Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N) military spokesman Arnu Ngutulu Lodi told Radio Dabanga that the action took place about 36km south-west of the state capital Damazin. Lodi said that his forces engaged “a battalion on SAF troop and large numbers of pro-government militiamen who were stationed in the area,” adding that “a number of vehicles and quantities of military supplies were also seized. Radio Dabanga was unable to independently verify these reports.
