Rape victim ‘in deplorable state’ in Central Darfur

Three members of a ‘government-backed militia’ allegedly raped a displaced woman on Sunday, just 500m east of Bindisi town in Central Darfur. The victim is currently being treated at Bindisi hospital.Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that the militiamen attacked two women in Tarbila Valley as they were tending their farms. One of them managed to escape while the second woman was beaten and raped alternately from 1pm until 4pm.The woman who escaped the attack reportedly informed other people about it, who “rushed to help”.
