Radio Nyala crew robbed on Nyala-El Fasher road, Darfur

A crew from Radio Nyala in South Darfur was robbed by an armed group on the road connecting Nyala with El Fasher on Sunday. The director of Radio Nyala, and team leader Khaled Sharaf El Din told Radio Dabanga that in the area of Kilo 51, an armed group opened fire on the bus they were in, returning to Nyala from a business trip in Manawashi. “The gunmen ordered all the passengers to disembark, including the radio team. They forced us to hand-over our money and mobile phones, as well as equipment belonging to the Sudan Broadcast Corporation, and Radio Nyala, including a digital recording and transmission set,” Sharaf El Din reported.
