Policeman killed in militia ambush

A policeman was killed and others injured in an ambush by militia on the road between Garsila and Muhjar in Central Darfur state on Monday. Witnesses said a car was carrying police from Zalingei that had just collected their salaries and was traveling to Muhjar when it was ambushed with militants shooting and killing the driver and wounding others who were taken to hospital in Garsila for treatment. They said the gunmen kidnapped one of the policeman and stole the money and car before fleeing to an unknown place.
