Police ‘lack fuel’ to persue robbers in West Darfur

Robbers shot a citizen in Sirba locality, West Darfur, on Tuesday. The police and army said they could not prosecute the perpetrators because of a lack of fuel. On Wednesday, two citizens were shot dead in an armed robbery in Central Darfur. “A group of Janjaweed shot Ishag Hassan Ahmed at the area of Girein in the eastern part of Sirba locality on Tuesday”, the coordinator of the Sirba camps for the displaced reported to Radio Dabanga. “He was hit, but not critically wounded. The militiamen then stole 150 goats, and fled.” The coordinator said that the incident was reported to the police, “but they refused to hunt down the perpetrators, under the pretext of a lack of fuel for their vehicles”.
