The police in Malha in North Darfur arrested SPLM member Mohamed Daoud nicknamed Abram after he participated in a peaceful demonstration rejecting the candidacy of Osman Kibir for governor of North Darfur.

Kibir is presently the governor for the National Congress Party (NCP) in North Darfur. Hafiz Ibrahim, financial secretary of the SPLM in Malha locality told Radio Dabanga that the police tore up photos of the SPLM candidate for the presidential elections, Yasir Arman.
