Barud Sandal, a lawyer and leading figure in the opposition Popular Congress Party (PCP), announced that there were more than 100 prisoners from Darfur and Sudan who were arrested since the attack on Omdurman in May 2008 who are still held without facing any charges. The PCP figure announced that there were measures which would be taken in the coming days to regain the rights of those detained. He specified that they would present a memo to the constitutional court along with other legal and political procedures.

A committee for the detained prisoners organized a strike on Tuesday in front of the security bureau building, protesting against the continuation of the arrest of several members of the PCP, including Elamin Abdul Razig and Dahab Mohammed Salih who are detained since more than four months ago without any charges being directed at them.
