PCP asks for release of party members

The Popular Congress Party (PCP) candidate for governor of Khartoum has asked President Omar al Bashir to release detainees who are party members. Adam al Tahir Hamdoun said this is for the sake of the democratic process in Sudan.

The Popular Congress Party (PCP) candidate for governor of Khartoum has asked President Omar al Bashir to release detainees who are party members. Adam al Tahir Hamdoun said this is for the sake of the democratic process in Sudan. He disclosed this during the launch of his party’s election campaign in the district of Karari. He said the detainees have been kept for 21 months in prison after being acquitted by a court. They were linked to the JEM attack on Omdurman in 2008.
