Passengers robbed, driver shot in Tawila, North Darfur

Gunmen robbed the passengers of a commercial vehicle in Tawila locality, North Darfur, on Sunday. In an attack on another vehicle, the driver sustained serious bullet wounds.
Omda Mukhtar Bosh, coordinator of the Tawila camps told Radio Dabanga that a group of gunmen riding on camels intercepted a commercial vehicle on the road between Zamzam camp for the displaced and Tawila town.

Omda Mukhtar Bosh, coordinator of the Tawila camps told Radio Dabanga that a group of gunmen riding on camels intercepted a commercial vehicle on the road between Zamzam camp for the displaced and Tawila town.

“They forced the driver and the passengers to disembark at gunpoint, and robbed them of their money, mobile phones. They then loaded the goods on board of the vehicle on their camels, and fled.”

He added that the driver of another vehicle was shot on Sunday too. “El Sadig Mohamed Arbab was on his way from Mortal in East Jebel Marra to the Zamzam camp, when Janjaweed suddenly fired at his car. He was taken to El Fasher Hospital for treatment of his bullet wounds.”
