Outbreak of conjunctivitis in Fata Borno, North Darfur

The people in the area of Fata Borno, Kutum locality in North Darfur, complain about the spread of conjunctivitis. In September, the eye disease first emerged among children, and spread rapidly. Later also adults complained about the highly contagious inflammation, a listener reported to Radio Dabanga from Fata Borno. “The symptoms are red and itching eyes, and pain at night. Almost every family has at least one person suffering from conjunctivitis. The health clinic in the area is overcrowded with patients, and the ointment prescribed did not contain the spread of the disease.” He appealed to the health authorities to intervene, and provide the right treatment to the patients.
