One of the leaders of the alliance of Sudanese opposition parties (NCF) was barred from leaving Sudan on Friday. Security service members took his passport.

Mohamed Diaeldin, leader of the National Consensus Forces, was on his way to the United Arab Emirates to participate in meetings of the Arab Basketball Federation, as a representative of the Sudanese Basketball Union.

Diaeldin told Radio Dabanga: “The security services prevented me from travelling and confiscated my passport after I arrived at the departure hall. This targets my political and sports activities.”

The NCF leader added that he has been arrested before by the security service as a member of the general association of the Olympic committee, which then obstructed his candidacy for head of the Olympic committee for Sudan.
