One Sudanese killed, three Chadians injured in Libya
In an attack by gunmen in the Libyan capital of Tripoli on Tuesday, a Sudanese national was killed and three Chadians were seriously injured.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga from Tripoli, Mohamed Abakar Elyas reported that four Libyan militants attacked a group of Sudanese in the Hamroniya district in southern Tripoli at about 8pm.
“Abdelkarim Shumo was shot dead, and Ahmed Majeed, Abdelaziz Ahmed, and Adam Mohamed sustained severe bullet wounds. They then robbed us of all our savings, totalling 7,000 Libyan dinars ($5,010).”
Elyas described the security situation in Tripoli as “extremely difficult”, and urged the Sudanese Embassy in Tripoli to evacuate them “as soon as possible”.
