One killed, three wounded in South Darfur capital

Groups of militiamen killed a man and wounded three others in South Darfur’s capital Nyala on Tuesday. Two men and a woman sustained injuries when they were assaulted by government-backed Janjaweed at the western gate of Nyala on Tuesday, a listener in the capital reported to Radio Dabanga. The three were returning from a visit to Bulbul area. In Nyala’s El Jeer district gunmen intercepted a travel agent who was on his way home. They aimed at seizing the property he had with him that belonged to the travel office where he worked. The attackers shot at him, in front of other citizens. The travel agent died instantly. The source added that people had stumbled upon a corpse near the mosque of El Jeer district on the same day. File photo
