One dead, three injured in North Darfur attacks

A man was stabbed to death in El Fasher, capital of North Darfur on Monday. A mother and her son sustained serious injuries in an attack in Kabkabiya. On Tuesday, a displaced woman was wounded in North Darfur’s El Sareif Beni Hussein, when three men attempted to rape her.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a listener reported from El Fasher that unknown assailants stabbed Salaheldin Abaker Yahya at the town’s El Mawaeshi market. “They fled the scene after he died.”
In El Shaheed district in Kabkabiya, three gunmen stabbed Fatima Ishag (46) and shot her son Jaafar (26) in their home on Monday evening.
The coordinator of Kabkabiya camps for the displaced said that she fell into a coma as a result of a deep knife wound to her right shoulder, and that her son’s condition is critical.
In El Sareif Beni Hussein locality, Halima Digeil Mohamed (35) was transferred to a hospital in Saraf Umra after an attempt by three herders to rape on her farm south of Um Jerwa.
“The herders first wanted to release their livestock on her land,” Sheikh Abdelrazeg Yousef Suleiman, the coordinator of the Saraf Umra camps told Radio Dabanga. “When she resisted, they tried to rape her. She then used her knife to defend herself, after which they severely beat her with rhino leather whips on the head and back.”
He demanded the ruling National Congress Party to end to these violations.
